CHAPTER 5

-Guys, can we take a break? We’ve been walking for hours, Lucy complained.
-Lucy is right. Let’s stop and camp here for the night. We are not far from Luna so if we begin early in the morning we’ll be there in the early afternoon. Besides if something happens tomorrow we should be in our full power.
-Erza is right. We need rest, Pantherlily said. Gajeel and I will get some woods for the fire.
The two men turned on their hills and lost themselves in the forest.
-I’ll go fetch some water.
-Juvia will go with Gray-sama.
-And I’ll go find something to eat.
-Wait Erza-san. I will come with you.
-Ok. The rest of you set camp.
-Aye sir.
Gajeel and Lily were walking inside the forest. Neither of them was talking. Lily could sense the tension in the air and that his friend was not ok.
-When we find her you should tell her your feelings, Lily broke the silence.
-What feelings?
-You know very well what feelings. You love her Gajeel.
-You’ve got a big imagination for a cat. Maybe you should try writing a book like bunny girl.
-Don’t do this with me. You may fool the others but I know you very well Gajeel.
-Fine. I love her. She may be short and not so powerful but she is the most kind-hearted and the most forgiving person I’ve ever met. She may be a bookworm but she is so funny with the faces she makes when she reads a book. When she smiles it’s like the whole room gets brighter immediately. She is so small and fragile and at the same time so big and small. I want her to be near me every minute so I can protect her so nothing happens to her. There happy now?
-I am not the one you should tell all these.
-I am not telling her!
-Why not? If it is because of your past then Gajeel you are a big dumpass.
-You weren’t there so you know nothing.
-Fine. I am not going to say anything else except one last thing. At this point she might not even like you after what you said to her the day the guild was disbanded. So I want you to think about this: can you continue your life knowing that the person you love might hate you?
Lily kept walking while Gajeel was frozen in his trucks. Fuck, fuck, fuck…. Lily was right. Levy might me upset with him. He wasn’t very kind the last time he saw her. Fuck, fuck, fuck…why can’t I shut my mouth sometimes…I can’t let her be mad with me…but I can’t talk to her either…she deserves someone better…fuck, fuck, fuck….
All this time Gajeel was facing the ground. When he lifted his gaze he saw that Pantherlily wasn’t there. However, he could catch his smell so he followed it in order to find his friend.
Meanwhile the others had already fixed the tents. Everyone returned and soon the fire was lit and they sat around it. All except from Gajeel, who was sitting under a tree with his back to its trunk. His eyes were closed but he could hear the others talking.
-So how are you going to find Levy in the city? , Lily asked.
-That’s the easy part! We know where the guy lives, Jet answered.
-That’s good. So we know where to find her.
-What do you mean that’s the easy part? , Lucy asked.
-I mean that Levy wanted to stay there and not leave with us.
-She didn’t know about the guy. We are going to tell her and get her out of there.
-I am going to kick that guy’s ass. I am all fired up.
-Calm down Natsu. We are not going to do anything to him.
-What? Why?
-You heard the council man. He is a respected man in the town and there is no proof about his relations with the dark guilds. We can’t harm him. We will just get Levy and leave.
-Juvia is wondering. What if Levy-san doesn’t believe us?
-No way. Levy is a part of our family and she will believe her family, Lucy answered.
-Lucy-san is right, Wendy added.
-And I am sure she will be happy to see all of us, Lily said.
-Ok, guys. Let’s get some rest. We continue our journey early in the morning.
The night was long or at least it seemed like that to Gajeel. He didn’t sleep well waiting for the sun to rise so everyone would wake up and they would leave. Maybe he seemed calm on the outside but he was really worried about Levy. Finally, they sun poured his first rays and everyone started waking up. They ate breakfast really quick and started walking again.
It was early afternoon when they reached the city. The streets were full of people. Children were running around the streets while they were many citizens taking an afternoon walk.
-It sure is a living city, Gray commented.
-Look how many shops there are here, Lucy said excited.
- We don’t have time for this shit. Let’s just get moving so we can finish quickly. Yo fatty, where is the house? , Gajeel said.
-Hey! Don’t talk to Droy like that, Jet said irritated.
-Yeah whatever. Just get us to the house.
-We have to cross the city. It is in a short distance of its outskirt.
-Let’s go.
-Natsuu..wait!, Lucy said and started running after Natsu.
-That idiot, Gray said and followed them.
Everyone started running to catch up with the fire dragon slayer. They were almost out of town when they heard someone calling them. Everyone stopped and turned.
There she was, wearing a light yellow dress which went until her knees, matched with white sandal. Her blue hair had grown a little and there were two strands falling in each side of her face. She didn’t wear her usual bandana but a white sunhat. Her smile was warm as ever. Gajeel had a funny sensation in his stomach the minute he saw her and stopped breathing. She was so beautiful.
-I am so happy to see you all after all this time, Levy said.
